ABOUT TR INTERIORS IN KELOWNA
Tara Reavie is an award-winning designer who graduated at the top of her class in Interior Design and has worked with top construction firms in Kelowna.
She personally works closely with clients, architects, contractors, and trades until the last detail is complete.
OUR STORY
Tara Reavie’s earliest influences instilled in her a deep respect for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail; these attributes inspired her career path. She graduated at the top of her class in Interior Design before delving into the industry.
This award-winning designer has led multiple projects ranging from custom furniture design to single- and multi-family homes and commercial spaces. She has worked with some of Kelowna’s top construction firms and spent five years as the in-house designer for the city’s largest flooring and tile company.
Tara established TR Interiors to provide her own exceptional levels of service and accountability. As the principal of this boutique firm, she is personally devoted to each project working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and trades until the last detail is complete.
TR Interiors has contributed to numerous commercial and residential projects in the Okanagan Valley including a 3,800-square-foot West Coast-style home in Kelowna’s Lakeview Heights, a modern residence in Kelowna’s Wilden Skylands and, in Lake Country, an expansive home inspired by the family’s Mediterranean heritage. Each has elements specifically suited to the client’s lifestyle and vision: durable white oak hardwood floors, built-in bookshelves, and sweeping mullion windows.
Cohesive, Timeless Design
Every TR Interiors project is built to last and be enjoyed for generations. Their successful outcome is the result of a structured and empathetic approach. Tara assists clients with the challenge of deciding on architectural details, finishes, furniture, etc. by distilling innumerable choices into thoughtfully selected options and cohesive design packages.
Clients appreciate Tara’s clear communication style, collaborative approach, and her ability to interpret, refine, and ultimately elevate their vision. For example, if she knows that a client loves to cook, she can enhance the plan for their kitchen, or, if a family has active teens, she may recommend a second living room. She works with architects to adjust a design without sacrificing style and frequently advises clients on the best ways to allocate their budgets for short- and long-term savings.
That commitment to integrity extends to the very structure of a building. Tara respects the spirit of the architectural structure as well as its history while adding a modern, elegant edge. She may do this by incorporating wood grains that darken over time, metals that burnish, or vintage furniture that has been refinished along with soft, contemporary hues and textures. Always, she is keenly aware of the way that external architecture and interior design read together. Inspired by leading designers in North America and Europe, Tara’s eclectic approach to design is ever-evolving and always inspired.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Harmonizing Curated Luxury and Comfort
Collaboration is at the heart of our business. It begins by listening to clients. We want to understand your needs and the elements that bring you a sense of serenity and joy. This informs each step of our design process from exploring the architectural elements, reviewing plans to understanding the overall function of each space, and selecting and curating finishes that fit each client’s style and lifestyle right down to the furnishings and décor.
We work in concert with architects, contractors, and skilled tradespeople to create spaces that balance usability with comfort, soft textures with sleek, modern lines, and neutral colour palettes enlivened with bold elements.
MEET THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
TARA REAVIE OWNER
Tara loves to solve design challenges. She melds exceptional artistry with two decades of training and experience to create functional, energizing yet serene residential and commercial spaces. Seamlessly integrating architectural features, often with a window onto the stunning scenery of the Okanagan Valley, her designs are imbued with subtle intimacy and texture.
Tara’s approach to design is informed by her earliest influences. Her father is a finishing carpenter, who established his business when he was only seventeen. Tara fondly refers to him as a magician who conjured practical purpose through rich grains and graceful lines. He inspired his daughter to see the pragmatic side of artistry. When he brought home floor plans, she was intrigued and began drawing her own.
Her creative aptitude continued to develop as she pursued her second love: history. Post-secondary schooling led to a degree in History and along with it, Tara developed an appreciation of historical events and the global influences of culture and architecture. Following the completion of her history degree, Tara entered the Interior Design program at Malaspina College (now the University of Vancouver Island).
After graduating, Tara moved to the Okanagan to work with a firm focusing on both residential and commercial design. Completing all of the drawing packages for the company, Tara refined her skills. In particular, she gained a reputation for producing documentation that becomes the foundation for clear, productive communication between all of the various stakeholders.
Bringing History to Life in Every Space
As the Creative Director of TR Interiors, Tara excels at listening to clients and implementing their vision using a structured approach. She further refines concepts by producing complete and detailed drawing packages tailored to each client’s requirements and style. TR Interiors works closely with architects, contractors, and tradespeople as a holistic team to build and renovate spaces that imbue architectural elements with a soulful, inviting practicality.
And, as you might expect, those properties often reflect Tara’s deep appreciation for history. When a client has a piece of furniture that has been handed down through the generations, or a building boasts a distinctive historical feature, she incorporates it into a space in a way that organically adds texture, life, and warmth. Having a family of her own, Tara understands that function and form are happiest when living harmoniously together.
There are two things that make a room timeless: a sense of history and a piece of the future.

Design Associate
Senior Designer, Geneviève Love, has always been surrounded by the arts and has dedicated her life to continuing in the field. Growing up, home renovation shows came before cartoons and her high school and university careers were devoted to her first love of music. After experiencing so much beauty around the world and living abroad in Europe, it was standing next to the aging architecture in Dublin, Ireland that drew her to a career in Interior Design.
Design is something that comes into every aspect of life and creating a space you love can make such a difference in your day to day. For her, mixing the old and the new with small tokens from each adventure in your life are what give a space a voice. Every piece comes together to
create just the right amount of chaos or peace, whichever you prefer. Geneviève has focused her passion for interior design to create spaces for her clients where she hopes they can express themselves, find balance and truly call home.
